The Story of FDL (Dermo Belgique): A 360° Vision for Sustainable and Unified Performance
As a leading distributor of cleaning products and professional hygiene solutions, FDL (Dermo Belgique) primarily serves a demanding B2B clientele across the hospitality (HoReCa), institutional, and industrial sectors. The company offers a comprehensive catalog ranging from everyday consumables to industrial cleaning machinery. For FDL, service quality relies not only on product performance but also on flawless logistics and responsive, localized after-sales support.
Navigating the Challenges of Technological Growth
Optimizing technical setup : Already an Odoo user, FDL needed to transition from a standard setup (SaaS) to a more flexible solution (Odoo.sh) in order to integrate industry-specific custom developments.
Structuring a complex pricing policy : With a diverse client base, managing prices by segment and individual customer became a major challenge in ensuring the accuracy of commercial offers.
Modernizing the digital presence : The company wanted to unify its communication through a modern corporate website, followed closely by a high-performing eCommerce platform.
Digitalizing on-site maintenance : A crucial need emerged to structure the after-sales service for machinery sales, including the management of warranties and on-site technical interventions.
The Idealis Solution
Strategic Migration and Workflow Customization
Idealis's intervention began with an upgrade to Odoo V18 and a migration to Odoo.sh. This infrastructure change bypassed the limitations of the standard version, allowing for the development of advanced pricing features. FDL now benefits from granular pricing management, precisely tailored to each customer type within the hospitality and industrial sectors.
Unifying the Customer Experience and eCommerce
We orchestrated the rollout of FDL's new digital identity in two phases:
- Corporate Website & eCommerce : Implementation of an intuitive platform that allows B2B clients to browse the catalog and place orders autonomously.
- On-Site Maintenance & Field Service : Complete digitalization of machinery tracking. Technicians now have a dedicated tool to manage warranties and intervention reports, ensuring full traceability of services performed at customer sites.
Support and Knowledge Transfer
Beyond the tool itself, Idealis focused heavily on localized support and training. Through targeted sessions, we helped FDL's teams better understand the logic behind Odoo, empowering them to become more autonomous. This collaborative approach allowed us to continuously refine the platform over time, transforming Odoo into a powerful daily management tool for both leadership and operational teams.
A 360° Vision for Sustainable Performance
Thanks to the partnership with Idealis, FDL now relies on a unified information system where sales, inventory, and after-sales service communicate in real time. The transition to a more customized model has successfully improved both customer satisfaction and the efficiency of field teams.
